The extraordinary scenario involved a couple on their final ‘child-free’ holiday in the Caribbean being interrupted by the onset of premature labour – seven weeks before the baby’s expected due date.

Five days after the infant was delivered into the world, a Hawker 800 aircraft specially equipped with an isolette (incubator) and two medical staff was sourced by David to safely transport the patient and its parents for the four hours and twelve minute flight back to their home in New York State. The aircraft also had to accommodate a set of golf clubs – unused!

Hunt & Palmer are pleased to report that, as the saying goes, mother and baby are doing well.

This is no mean feat for the 26 mile challenge through the city’s streets and for a man who regularly delivers his client’s air freight on schedule, Stuart is keen to ensure his own on-time arrival at the finish.

This is Stuart’s first time and he is running the 2013 Marathon in order to raise money on behalf of The Ralph Bates Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund and hopes that his endeavours will bring in at least £500 for this worthy charity. The fund provides money for research into the causes of pancreatic cancer through work at the St George’s University of London and into finding a cure.

Everyone at Hunt & Palmer will be spurring on their colleague when the run takes place on 21 April and many will be watching the TV coverage to catch a glimpse as he crosses the line. We all wish Stuart, and indeed every runner at the event, the very best of luck and let’s hope the weather stays fine for them, though perhaps not too warm.

Domestic air fares rose in India by 18 per cent in the last three months of 2011* and commercial airlines face uncertain times with a lull in the number of flights booked both nationally and internationally.  Hunt & Palmer, who has an office in New Delhi, is looking to gain from the growing interest in air charter in the region, as European air charter business is set to remain stagnant over the coming year.

Many of the private jets in India are currently owned by businesses and are used to jet executives around the country and abroad, it’s estimated there are around 140 private jets based in India.  Due to the sheer expanse of the country executives have come to prefer the convenience that air charter provides particularly to reach the regions with limited transport infrastructure.

In addition, according to recent forecasts, the Indian Mice market is expected to grow by 10-15 percent in 2012 with Germany, the UK and France topping the destination favourites.  Its estimated that more than 1.5 million passengers travelled outbound for meetings and conventions last year.
